Direct mail inserting plays a crucial role in assembling direct mail marketing campaigns, involving the gathering and placement of diverse printed elements into envelopes, self-mailers, or packages prior to sealing and dispatching them to recipients. This method guarantees that essential items—like customized letters, brochures, response cards, return envelopes, vouchers, or advertising flyers—are bundled together in one cohesive mailer to enhance recipient interaction and boost reply rates.
The components or inserts can be loaded into specialized inserting equipment or assembled manually. Automated systems efficiently manage several inserts per envelope, including folding as required and ensuring precise alignment. These inserts are then inserted into the pre-addressed envelope or mailer. Finally, the envelope is sealed, and the mail piece is readied for distribution to the Houston Bulk Mail Acceptance Unit (BMEU).
At our Houston facility, DMR operates three high-speed envelope inserters dedicated to this process. We employ them to seamlessly insert letters into envelopes. Featuring six stations each, our inserters automatically open the envelope flap, accommodate up to six inserts simultaneously, and seal the envelopes upon completion for a streamlined, efficient output.
